The second meeting of the DANTE LdV project partners took place last week from Wednesday 19 March to Saturday 22 in Gijon, Spain. The meeting was attended by trainees from Romania, Slovenia and Italy as well as the project coordinators from Italy, Greece, Lithuania, The Czech Republic, Romania and Slovenia.
The partners arrived throughout Wednesday. Morning and afternoon working sessions were held on Thursday. On Friday morning from 9.30 to 1.30 an very interesting international workshop on citizenship was organized by Lawton School, as the host organization, in cooperation with Gijón City Council (European & International Affairs Dept. and the Impulsa Programme of the Agencia Local de Promoción Económica y Empleo).
A wide-ranging series of presentations were made in the workshop, which was well attended and judged to be a resounding success. A final working meeting of the partners was held in the afternoon to clarify certain aspects of the project, while on Saturday the partners were able visit the Mining Museum, to enjoy some sightseeing in Oviedo and observe the way other communities (Oviedo) work for their citizens, before a farewell dinner in Gijón. The next meeting will be held in Greece, in July. The presentations made in the Gijon workshop will be soon be available as examples of good practices.
